The Art of Microblading

Have your eyebrows thinned over the years due to over-plucking or waxing, trying to follow thin eyebrow fashion trends? Or maybe your eyebrows are just thinning from age? Microblading eyebrows in Miami by the skilled artists at Fame Tattoos allows you to get fuller looking eyebrows that have long-term, lasting results through a simple procedure.

What is Microblading?

Microblading eyebrows in Miami is a technique that enhances the visual look of eyebrows through the use of manual tattooing. Also known as eyebrow embroidery or 3D brows, a tattoo artist will use a very fine blade (sometimes a series of small needles) to create microcuts and then implant a pigment close to the surface of the skin. This creates a cosmetic tattoo that is fine, crisp and natural looking to fill out your eyebrows.

What to Expect During the Procedure?

At the start of a microblading eyebrows in Miami procedure, you will be first asked some medical questions to ensure that you can safely have the procedure done. It’s not advisable to have the procedure done if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, are on blood thinners, or have highly sensitive skin conditions like eczema. Next, you will receive a numbing cream along your eyebrows, and the area will be sterilized, and the artist will draw on the outline of the eyebrow shape chosen. After this, the artist will use their blade (or needles) to apply the pigment to your eyebrows, in lines that are as thin as natural hairs and in the direction they would naturally grow. Any eyebrow hairs that are present will be carefully brushed to the side to ensure they are not damaged. You should expect the procedure to take anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes depending on the amount of work needed.

Before and After Care

Before you start a microblading eyebrows in Miami procedure you need to make sure that your skin and body is properly ready for it. Therefore, do not take any blood thinners beforehand. Try to avoid sun-tanning to ensure the skin is at its natural tone. Make sure you haven’t had any Botox done within 2-3 weeks of microblading. Don’t use any heavy peels, acne-creams, or retinol on your forehead or around the brows to ensure that the skin is not too sensitive. For the first 24 hours after microblading you should clean your eyebrows with distilled water on a cotton pad, and apply any aftercare cream given to you every 4 hours. The second day you will do this three times, and for the rest of the week just morning and night. Your skin will take one to two weeks to fully heal, so avoid getting your brows wet during that time to ensure the pigment holds.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading eyebrows in Miami should last at the very least 6 months, but up to 3 years after the procedure is completed. It may be recommended to have a follow-up appointment one month after the initial procedure to touch up the area to ensure you get the best results possible. Avoiding exfoliants around the brows can also increase the length of time you get out of your procedure.
